NCT DREAM is back by the side of fans with ‘Refreshing DREAM’

NCT DREAM’s fourth full-length album “DREAMSCAPE” will be released in its entirety on various music sites on November 11 at 6pm. The music video for the title track “When I’m With You” will be released simultaneously on YouTube’s SMTOWN channel.

In particular, the title track “When I’m With You” is a house-based electronic pop song with an addictive chorus, and the lyrics express the complex emotions that I feel when I’m with you and the way I’m falling in love with you in a dreamscape.

In addition, the dynamic story unfolding in the dreamlike landscape of ‘Dreamscape,’ where NCT DREAM left the dark reality in search of an ideal dream space, is organically composed over 11 songs. Members Mark and Haechan actively participated in the songwriting process to create a unique story of NCT DREAM.

The following is a one-on-one interview with NCT DREAM about their fourth album.

Q. This is your fourth studio album. How do you feel about releasing your fourth album?

– Mark🐯: I’m really looking forward to the album! The members have been involved in the process, so I think it’s a very NCT DREAMy album with new colors. I’m also looking forward to our activities.

– Jeno🐶: It’s been a long time since we’ve made a comeback, so I’m excited and surprised that we’re already releasing our fourth album.

Q. What kind of album is this fourth album, and what message do you hope to convey with it?

– Renjun🦊: It’s a fairy tale about how we get out of a dark world and into a brighter world, and we want to convey the message, “Let’s live in a brighter world!”

– Jaemin🐰: “Dreamscape” is a wonderful album that happily concludes a long journey of a year. I hope many people will be happy after listening to this album. (Laughs)

Q. This album is a continuation of your previous album ‘DREAM( )SCAPE’, but did you start thinking about two albums from the very beginning? I’m curious about your preparation process.

– Haechan🐻: Yes, we have been preparing for two albums since the planning stage. It’s good to have all the stories in one album, but we thought that we could tell a richer story through two works with a continuous storyline. I think we were able to show various stories and musical colors through storytelling about the opposite themes of pain and suffering in reality and freedom and joy in an ideal world.

– Jisung🐹: From the first production meeting, we had the idea that we wanted to connect the story of the album, so we’ve been preparing it step by step since July last year, and it feels like a year-long project has finally been completed.

Q. What was your reaction when you first heard the title track, “What’s With You”?

– Mark🐯: I thought, “It’s catchy!” (laughs) It’s a clean and catchy song that goes well with NCT DREAM, so I had high expectations.

– Jaemin🐰: Among the title candidates, this was the first song that I thought would be a good fit for NCT DREAM, and I thought NCTzen would be waiting for NCT DREAM’s refreshing music.

Q. What kind of charm will NCT DREAM showcase with the title track “Why Am I With You”?

– Chenle🐬: I think we’ll be able to show the charm of NCT DREAM that has grown up, because it’s more trendy and sophisticated than before!

– Jisung🐹: I think we’ll be able to show the unique charm of NCT DREAM, which is neither cute nor cool.

Q. You’re at the end of your third world tour, “THE DREAM SHOW 3 : DREAM( )SCAPE,” and you’ve been able to meet fans up close and personal in 25 locations around the world. What have you learned and felt from this tour?

– Mark🐯: As with every tour, I realize that it takes a lot of hard work and support from the staff around me to make a great show happen. I’ve also realized once again that it’s only possible because we’re all together. Most importantly, I’ve realized that we’re able to travel to so many parts of the world because of our fans.

– Chenle🐬: It was really touching to see NCTzen’s from all over the world enjoying our performances and being happy. It reminded us that we can communicate with them through music, which made us enjoy our performances even more and communicate with them.

Q. With the encore performance in Seoul still to come, what will be the key points to watch?

– Jeno🐶: I think it will be a performance with new songs and the charms of the individual members as well as the 7DREAM organization.

– Jisung🐹: You’ll be able to see an upgraded stage from the first concert. We’re working hard to make up for the shortcomings of the Seoul concert and make it even better, so please look forward to it!

Q. Lastly, what would you like to say to NCTzen, who is always with NCT DREAM?

– Mark🐯: I would like to tell NCTzen that NCT DREAM will always be there for you. We will always be 7Dream to keep you happy, make you smile, and touch your heart! Thank you so much for your support, and enjoy this ‘When I’m With You’ activity together!
