BTS Jungkook No. 1 on the newly released Billboard K-Pop Artists 100! A total of 16 groups ranked.

On May 27 , the U.S. Billboard headquarters released the “Billboard K-Pop Artist 100” to celebrate the launch of “Billboard Korea” in May and its first issue in June.

The “Billboard K-Pop Artists 100” is the first list released this year in cooperation with Billboard Korea. Billboard, together with “Billboard Korea,” will annually select and announce the 100 K-Pop artists who have performed on Billboard’s main chart.

The Artist 100 ranking is compiled by combining the main singles chart “HOT100” of Billboard’s main album chart “Billboard 200” and the “Boxscore Top Tour Chart” results from last year (January 7, 2023 – December 30, 2023).

A total of 16 groups were selected for the “Billboard K-Pop Artist 100,” starting with Jungkook of BTS (Bulletproof Boys’ Troupe), who took first place. The artists selected for this year’s list are BTS, Stray Kids, FIFTY FIFTY, NewJeans, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, SEVENTEEN, ATEEZ, ENHYPEN, TWICE, BLACKPINK, LE SSERAFIM, aespa, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, (G)I-DLE, and ITZY.

While the 100 artists were introduced and the reasons for their selection were explained, special attention was focused on Jungkook, who took first place. Jungkook has earned the title of BTS’s “Golden Star,”” Billboard said, adding, “Jungkook’s debut single ‘Seven (feat. Latto),’ his solo debut single, reached No. 1 on Billboard’s HOT 100. In addition, it remained at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 for seven weeks, was ranked No. 1 on the Global Song of the Summer, and was named Top Global K-Pop at the Billboard Music Awards.

Jungkook’s solo song “Standing Next to You” also spent 16 consecutive weeks on Billboard’s HOT 100, the longest charting period of any of his solo songs.

Last month, Billboard announced the official launch of “Billboard Korea” in Korea with the publication of its first issue “Billboard K Vol. 1” in June. Prior to the publication of the first issue, “Billboard Korea” will embark on an extensive launch promotion, starting with the opening of its official website and digital platform in April and May.

The “Billboard Korea” launch event in May will be attended by Mike Van, head of Billboard’s headquarters, and other key executives, and will include the artists selected for the “Billboard K-Pop Artist 100” as well as key figures from the entertainment industry.
