KAT-TUN’s Tatsuya Ueda releases lyric video for new song in collaboration with his “Big Bro”

The lyric video for Tatsuya Ueda’s (KAT-TUN) new song “Giristo! on YouTube.

Giristo! is the title track of Ueda’s first solo EP, which will be released on February 7, and was created for his solo concert “MOUSE PEACE 2024 ~Garyu Tensei~” being held from January to February. The song was written at Ueda’s request in collaboration with Sho Sakurai (Arashi), whom he calls “Big Bro,” and is a song that reminds us of the bond between Ueda and Sakurai, who worked together on the song, as well as their friends.

Sakurai commented on the new song, “It was very fresh and fun to spend time spinning the words with him on the mic, rather than rapping by myself. At his request, we also created a dialogue with the audience, making it an “audience-participation” type song. I would be happy if you could listen to it as if you were “participating” in the live performance.

■Comment from Sho Sakurai
Last fall, I was contacted directly by Mr. Ueda and asked if I would be interested in writing a song together.
While I was somewhat hesitant, he spoke passionately about his “feelings for the fans.
Collaboration that transcends group boundaries is something that only we can do. And that is something that our fans would be happy to see. We want to deliver such entertainment now. Touched by this passionate desire, this project began to move forward.
The time spent spinning words with the assumption that he would be holding the microphone, rather than rapping himself, was very fresh and enjoyable.
At his request, he also created a dialogue with the audience, making it an “audience-participation” song.
I would be happy if you could listen to the song as if you were “participating” in the live performance.
Thank you very much for your cooperation.
