ASTRO’s MJ, the group’s 1st member to be discharged
from the military today (11/8)!

MJ will hold a live broadcast at 7 p.m. today through ASTRO’s official YouTube channel to commemorate his discharge and communicate with his fans for the first time in a long time.

MJ, who enlisted in the active duty army last May, has faithfully performed his military service in the military band for about 1 year and 6 months. Having completed his duty of national defense, he will not hold a special discharge ceremony, but will report his return to his fans through a delivery.
In particular, the broadcast will be MJ’s first meeting with his fans after his discharge, and he plans to spend a meaningful time with his global fans by showing various aspects of himself that he has never shown before, including a Q&A corner and a talk about his recent situation.

MJ is the main vocalist of ASTRO and has also been active as a solo singer and musical actor. In November 2021, before his enlistment, he proved his ability and charm as a solo artist by winning first place on SBS M and SBS FiL’s “The Trot Show” monthly with “Get Set Yo (Feat. Kim Tae-young),” the title track of his first solo album, “Happy Virus. He also appeared in the musicals “Jamie” and “Jack the Ripper,” where he received enthusiastic support from the audience.

In addition, as a member of the project trot (Korean enka) group Tasoggjang (SUPER FIVE), he released trot songs such as “Tears of Rain,” “It’s going to be fine,” and “Gaze Fixation,” and participated in the OST (insert song) “Memory of Spring Day” for the web drama “Spring Emotion Rebellion,” where his versatile, genre-independent singing was recognized. He has been recognized for his versatile singing ability that is not bound by any genre.

After completing his military service, MJ has returned with a more matured appearance, and expectations are high for his future performance.
